چکیده

The expansion of cultivated land in place natural vegetation has a substantial influence on hydrologic characteristics watershed. However, due to basin and the nature intensity landscape modification, response varies across basins. This study aims evaluate performance soil water assessment tool (SWAT) model its applicability assessing effects use cover (LULC) changes hydrological processes upper Genale River basin. results satellite change detection over past 30 years (between 1986 2016) revealed that changed considerably. They showed settlement, cultivated, bare areas had increased from 0.16% 0.28%, 24.4% 47.1%, 0.62%, respectively. On contrary, units such as forest, shrubland, grassland reduced 29.6% 13.5%, 23.9% 19.5%, 21.8% 18.9%, Based monthly measured flow data, was calibrated validated SWAT-CUP using sequential uncertainty fitting (SUFI-2) algorithm. result performed well with coefficient determination (R2) ≥ 0.74, Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE) 0.72, percent bias (PBIAS) between −5% 5% for calibration validation periods. responses LULC 1986, 2001, 2016 models average annual runoff by 13.7% 7.9% groundwater decreased 2.85% 2.1% 2001 2016, Similarly, total yields 324.42 mm 339.63 347.32 processes, mainly rise yield reduction lateral watershed, resulted changes. broader implications planning management resource development.

Identifying and Understanding Land Use/land Cover Change in Kansas

Statewide land cover change detection analysis provides a useful tool for conservation planning and environmental monitoring and addresses issues of habitat fragmentation and urban sprawl. Furthermore, using historical and recent land cover data offers two perspectives on landscape dynamics. To this end, the first alliance level land cover map of Kansas recently completed by the KARS Program wa...

An Integrated Modelling System to Predict Hydrological Processes under Climate and Land-Use/Cover Change Scenarios

This study proposes an integrated modeling system consisting of the physically-based MIKE SHE/MIKE 11 model, a cellular automata model, and general circulation models (GCMs) scenarios to investigate the independent and combined effects of future climate and land-use/land-cover (LULC) changes on the hydrology of a river system. The integrated modelling system is applied to the Elbow River waters...

Water quality in the upper Han River basin, China: the impacts of land use/land cover in riparian buffer zone.

Vegetated riparian zones adjacent to rivers and streams, can greatly mitigate nutrients, sediment from surface through deposition, absorption and denitrification, yet, human activities primarily land use practices have dramatically reduced the capacity. In this study, 42 sampling sites were selected in the riverine network throughout the upper Han River basin (approximately 95,200 km(2)) of Chi...

Land-Use Change Modelling in the Upper Blue Nile Basin

Land-use and land-cover changes are driving unprecedented changes in ecosystems and environmental processes at different scales. This study was aimed at identifying the potential land-use drivers in the Jedeb catchment of the Abbay basin by combining statistical analysis, field investigation and remote sensing. To do so, a land-use change model was calibrated and evaluated using the SITE (SImul...
